Ingredients

  • 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops 1-inch thick
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or avocado oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • ½ tsp freshly cracked black pepper
  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese optional

Method

  1. Prep the pork: Remove pork chops from the fridge 15 minutes before cooking. Pat both sides completely dry with paper towels.
  2. Season: Brush both sides lightly with olive oil. Mix garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, oregano, salt, black pepper, and Parmesan cheese in a small bowl, then rub evenly over both sides of the pork chops.
  3. Preheat: Set your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and preheat for 3 minutes.
  4. Air Fry: Place pork chops in a single layer in the air fryer basket without overlapping. Cook at 400°F for 8–10 minutes for boneless or 10–12 minutes for bone-in, flipping halfway through.
  5. Rest: Remove when internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C) on a meat thermometer. Transfer to a plate and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Thickness Matters: Choose chops at least 1-inch thick for maximum juiciness.
  • Internal Temp: Pull pork chops at 145°F. Overcooking is the main cause of tough pork.
  • Resting Time: Rest 5 minutes before slicing to lock in natural juices.
  • Air Fryer Models: Air fryer cooking power varies. Check doneness a minute or two early on your first attempt.
