Ingredients
Method
Prep & Steam
- If serving with rice, start cooking it first according to package directions.
- Slice steak into thin strips against the grain.
- In a small bowl, whisk together all the sauce ingredients until smooth and cornstarch is fully dissolved; set aside.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat. Add broccoli florets and 2 tablespoons of water. Cover and steam for 4–5 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Transfer broccoli to a plate.
Sear & Combine
- Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil to the skillet and increase heat to medium-high.
- Add beef strips in a single layer (cook in batches if needed) and sear quickly for 2 minutes per side until browned.
- Pour the prepared sauce over the meat and reduce heat to low. Simmer for 3–4 minutes until the sauce thickens into a glossy glaze.
- Add the broccoli back to the skillet and toss to coat evenly. Serve hot over white rice and garnish with sesame seeds!
Notes
- Slicing Tip: Freeze steak for 15-20 minutes before cutting to make paper-thin slicing much easier.
- Don't Overcrowd: Sear beef in batches so it browns properly instead of steaming.
- Gluten-Free Option: Swap soy sauce with Tamari or Coconut Aminos.
- Storage & Meal Prep: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. Reheat gently on the stove or microwave.
